The third annual Music for the Masses festival is shaping up to be the best yet, with a welcome variety of top-shelf local musicians. Hip-hop maestro Approach-who will be moving to San Francisco in a few weeks-headlines along with the area's finest funk and jam masters The Yards and Dojo. A bevy of high-energy rockers kick things off, including Lonnie Fisher and the Funeral, Trucker, Square Show. More info and mp3s from these bands are available via the linkage to your right.This year's festival is once again a benefit for local charity-1/3 of the concert revenue will go to Project SCIO, a local start-up charity. Any further donations will be forwarded there as well.Parking is free, but limited in Burcham-after it is gone, use the surrounding neighborhood or downtown. Food stands will be available, including hot dogs, juice, soups. This event is BYOB.
