San Diego's Red Pony Clock is an 11-headed psychedelic pop-folk collective that recalls the whimsical recordings of the Elephant 6 crew and/or indie poppers like Half-Handed Cloud, Architecture in Helsinki and Mt. Erie. Likened by one San Diego scribe to "a group of high school drama kids who dropped acid and got locked in the school music room," the group hooked up with Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records for its new LP "God Made Dirt."Opener Ample Branches is a newish folk-pop band from Lawrence featuring former members of Box Social.
