Description: California's The New Trust have no songs with "California" in the title and sound nothing like the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Phantom Planet. Instead, the group rocks an offbeat indie punk catalog of titles like "Chill the F*ck Out" and "Don't Even Get Me Started on Jebus." Citing influences like Engine Down and Minus the Bear, these trustworthy DIY rockers are embarking on a month-long tour in support of a new LP on Slowdance Records forebodingly titled "Dark Is the Path That Lies Before Us" (which shouldn't be interpreted as an invitation to steal their gear).
