Words are oh so unnecessary for Pelican, an instrumental metal outfit that alternates between caustic riffs and dreamy shoegazing. The band's second full-length for the Hydrahead label is "The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw," a seven-song affair spanning an hour of dynamic peaks and valleys.
