Description: Arthur Dodge is as much a part of Lawrence's nightlife as tailgating teens downtown or panhandling punks with dogs. The veteran singer/songwriter has performed in countless dives with his massive catalog of songs, all effortlessly composed with the dexterity of classic songsmiths like Paul Westerberg and Jeff Tweedy. Dodge's latest long player, "The Perfect Face," is a solo album of sorts with backing from locals like Adrianne Verhoeven (vocals) and Jeff Jackson (pedal steel). It's a low-key affair with Dodge's raspy voice and old-soul lyrics at the forefront of an arresting document of love and other explosive devices.
