Description: With 10 years experience in the local music scene, Danny Pound is the kind of songwriter that we should feel lucky to call our own. Since splitting with indie outfit Vitreous Humor, Pound has been reincarnated as the ghost of Gram Parsons — a bar-burning troubadour with a country love affair and a rock and roll heart. Equally entertaining as a solo performer and with The Danny Pound Band, Pound splits his time between melancholy originals and would-be-hits lost in the backroads of the Nashville machine.
Born as a duo consisting of former Creature Comforts frontman Chris Tolle and drummer Jake Cardwell, The Belles boast some of the best songwriting chops in the area, with heavy doses of Neil Young-inspired balladry and a predilection towards early-'70s folk and country music. The band has spent the last couple years touring the world over and releasing a series of well-received EPs on the Eat/Sleep UK label. With The Belles' latest full-length indeterminately shelved, Tolle and Cardwell are staying busy by playing with KC bands Olympic Size and The Caves, respectively.
