Toots and the Maytals

with Chris Pierce

Granada

Toots Hibbert is one of the great voices of Jamaica, a legend whose career spans every development in Jamaican music, from reggae through ska to rock-steady. Toots' 1968 hit "Do the Reggay" purportedly named the genre, and the Toots-penned "Monkey Man" has been an anthem for three generations of ska bands. Never one to let time or old-age slow him down, Toots' recent album "True Love" won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album and paired him with admirers like Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Trey Anastacio.
