LA's Bus Driver was breathing hip hop from an early age. Born to a dad who was the screenwriter for the seminal Krush Groove, he began rapping at the age of 9 and released his first album at the age of 13, having named his group 4/29 after the day the LA riots began in 1992. Besides making many guest appearances, he has released six albums since 2002, and has become known for his harefooted delivery and humorous, yet socially conscious style. Fellow Mush labelmate Daedelus, though well-schooled at USC in jazz, has become an eclectic and prolific electronic artist, incorporating samples from all over the map into his own music and beats. The third Los Angelino on the bill is Antimc, a longtime underground artist known to mix up reggae and punk rock into his own eccentric style of wordplay.
