Isaac Diehl (a.k.a. I.D. from Lawrence hip-hop collective Archetype) unveils his two-years-in-the-making solo album "Avatar Hotel" with a party at the Gaslight Tavern. Backed by brainy experimental avant-hop noir concoctions, Diehl scribbles intelligent stream-of-consciousness wordplay with a locked-in delivery. He's released albums independently and for Mush Records, covering a wide spectrum of styles indebted to his fascinations with independent hip-hop, rock bands, television and coffee. The party starts at 6:30 p.m. with FREE BBQ, both meat and veggie. DJs Cruz and Deadpool set the stage for I.D.'s performance with a full band at 10 p.m.This is a pre-party of sorts for Approach's CD release show at the Granada, which is set to start at 11 p.m.
