HUGE AUDIO SALE: "For Your EARS Only"

Description: "For Your Ears Only" is the annual benefit sale for the Audio-Reader Network. It promises to deliver an eclectic mix of more than 10,000 vintage and vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, audio books and more AUDIO EQUIPMENT like turntables, receivers, amps, speakers, stereos and home entertainment systems THAN EVER BEFORE!

Great bargains! Most records will go for $1, CDs for $3 and equipment will be priced as marked. All items are new or gently used and have been donated over the past year by generous members of our community.

OPENING NIGHT is Friday, September 21 from 6-9 p.m. and features live music, free food and beverage items, prizes and first pick of our EXTENSIVE INVENTORY for an admission fee of $10. Advance tickets are available from Audio-Reader for $7.

Saturday, September 22 features free admission to the sale.

The Audio Reader Network is a reading and information service for the blind and visually impaired in Kansas and western Missouri. All services are FREE and feature a closed-circuit radio station broadcasting 24 hours a day of newspapers, books, magazines, and special interest programs to thousands in our listening area. Other services include Telephone Reader, Internet listening, Special Request Recording, Audio Description of Live Theater and our famous Sensory Garden right here in Lawrence!

We received so many unusual/rare items this year, here’s just a sampling of what you’ll find:

A collection of hundreds of laser discs and a laser disc player – all meticulously catalogued and in MINT condition!

An autographed Louis Armstrong vintage record set of 1920s recordings called “Hot Jazz Classics” on Columbia records set C-28.

A BETA player with commercial and blank BETA tapes.

A Harman Kardon Citation-V Classic Tube Amp – high value collectible!

 A portable studio console (worth $3500 new)

 Reel-to-Reel recorders and tapes

Prizes will be given away Friday evening from local businesses, including Signs of Life, J&S Coffee, Best Buy, 1/2 Price Books and more.

Free food and beverage items on Friday night have been generously donated from Scarlet Orchid, Maceli's, Bigg's, Wheatfields, and others to be announced.

Live music by the Lonesome Hobos band featuring Chubby Smith ( http://www.myspace.com/thechubbysmith5 ) also on Friday evening.

SATURDAY is FREE ADMISSION and features family friendly activities including a place for children with stories being read and a treasure chest of free goodies to keep them happy and occupied while parents shop.
