Description: Once upon a time, indie rockers awoke to a new awakening: quantity. With the fine art of thriftiness going out of fashion like Slim Goodbody, bands began adding members at the rate of an Adult Superstore outlet mall. California's Bodies of Water caught the fever, exhibiting Sufjan-like tenacity in building a 10-strong team of collaborators. Though the show-tuney indie pop band scales it back for tours, its music retains its choir-like over-the-topness amid a rich instrumental tapestry. If you like family bands like Anathallo and I'm From Barcelona, you'll go all oceanic for Bodies of Water. Or, you'll really lake Bodies of Water! Or, this ain't no forsaken mystery liquid—this is Bodies of Water.
