Description: Passion and creativity blend into the heady improvisation that comes naturally to Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Montero. When she was 7 months old, Montero received a two-octave piano that became her favorite toy. By 18 months, she began to pick out the themes from songs that her mother sang to her. At age 2, she was improvising on those themes. Today she is an accomplished, world-class pianist who travels the globe sharing her talent and easy good humor with appreciative audiences.
