A group of senior social work students are holding a fundraiser at Applebee's on Iowa in Lawrence on April 15th (all day) to benefit Pooches and Pals. Pooches and Pals is a program in which women inmates at the Topeka Correctional Facility help train service dogs and guide dogs. The service dogs and guide dogs are placed with Midwesterners who are in need of a helping companion. This program also rescues dogs that are about to be euthanized and the women from the medium and maximum security units train these dogs as well. The funds raised will go to the Pooches and Pals program for food, vet bills, equipment, etc.Please mention to your sever that you want 10% of your bill to support the fund.
