Description: Since parting ways with jamgrass pioneers Leftover Salmon, Vince Herman has been writing and collecting electric Americana tunes to add to Great American Taxi's vast catalog of Southern swamp rock, roadhouse country and Guthrie-tinged political satire. Guitarist/songwriter Jefferson Hamer contributes rock and indie-country songs that channel the 12-string psychedelic twang of The Byrds, and the rhythm section is locked down by seasoned vets Jake Coffin on drums/vocals and Edwin Hurwitz on bass guitar. Billing their act as "Americana Without Borders," Great American Taxi is an inspired fount of fun roots music and dance-happy feet.
