Description: The last time Spoon wasn't critically recognized as one of the best rock bands on earth was about the time that Segways were supposed to be huge. Each ensuing album is hailed as a paradigm shift, attesting to ringmaster Britt Daniels' aptitude for experimentation within the context of infectious yet instrumentally stark thinking-man's rock tunes. Predictably, the indie rockosphere went goo goo for "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga" — Spoon's sixth record and the first to feature Lawrence's Rob Pope (White Whale, The Get Up Kids) on bass. Lead single "The Underdog" is the band's best shot yet at breaking through to the mainstream, but nobody will be complaining if they stay inside their prolific underground bubble.
This show is the rescheduled from the original Oct. 3, 2007, cancelled due to a last-minute booking on SNL.
