It's winter and it's damn chilly, so burrow in at the 4-1-1 and get cozy on stories, poems, and spoken word by your fellow Lawrencians - either original or an old (or new) favorite. The genre doesn't really matter, but it should evoke an adventure, exploration or tall tale of some kind - open to your interpretation. The campfire used to be the main gathering place where people entertained each other and learned of far-off places before TV and internet. This is partly inspired by the allure of fire and warmth and good people, and partly by recent doomsday reports about the demise of reading.A few wordsmiths will get things started and then we'll flow from there. The space itself will be designed by KT Walsh and Dave Loewenstein, and hot rum cider and other delectables will be passed around.
