The idea of place is rooted in the work by both Ghosty and local artist Liz Gardner, to be heard and seen at this Love Garden CD release show and art opening.Ghosty's new release, "Answers," finds the band returning home from a spate of touring and recording elsewhere to work with local notable producer Paul Malinowski and the team of Robert Moore and Megan Hamilton of KC's Oxblood Recordings. The album is loaded with the irresistible pop hooks and vocal harmonies that have always hallmarked a Ghosty recording. "Answers" is arguably their best album yet, from the songwriting to sound quality and Andrew Connor's lyrics-ruminations on the notion of place and how it differs from person to person.Garder's work incorporates hand-stitching, found objects, maps and cut-out images, and her own drawings in a wide variety of tableaus fashioned over the course of a year.
