Description: On December 11, Babacar Diouf from Senegal was killed in the bombing in Algiers, Algeria. His wife, Selbee Diouf, just completed her PhD in English at the University of Kansas this past spring (Babacar had also been to KU for a seminar). To honor Babacar and express sympathy to Selbee, the Kansas African Studies Center is organizing a forum to denounce Al-Qaeda's terrorist actions in North Africa. KASC and various student organizations will present statements declaring their solidarity. All student and faculty groups on campus are invited to the forum in the Centennial Room of the Kansas Union.
For more information contact KASC Outreach Coordinator Emmanuel Birdling at 785-864-1064 or birdling@ku.edu.
