Description: The fellows of Bandit Teeth may not take themselves seriously, but don't let that fool you. After a seven-year hiatus, this trio of Lawrencians has reestablished itself as a top-shelf draw for their brand of high-energy, punk-influenced indie rock. Sharing members with Brooklyn's Blood on the Wall, Bandit Teeth shares the similar strong influences of early '90s college rock, evident in the labored vocals laid over strong (albeit distorted) melodic hooks in the vein of Pavement or Guided by Voices.
Openers ColourMusic play a vivid brand of "Oklahoma Sex Rock" that reminds of The Flaming Lips' psychedelic early years and other wacked-out pop groups like The Polyphonic Spree. The band has been known to perform skits and have "exercise shows" where they work out onstage, but lately they've taken to wearing white tracks suits and having the audience scribble on overhead projectors.
