Lawrence bluegrass quintet Billy the Squirrel got its name from a curious brown rodent who would sit on the windowsill while the group practiced. Sadly, even with a fake McLovin ID in paw, the squirrel has yet to gain access to an actual Billy the Squirrel performance. But perhaps he'll be looking down tonight when the string band takes the stage to perform selections from its latest album "Coming Home." Taking inspiration from grassy pickers like Leftover Salmon, Yonder Mountain String Band and New Grass Revival, BTS plays dance-happy originals and covers ranging from Split Lip Rayfield to Jethro Tull.
