Description: Kansas-Nebraska Chautauqua, Bright Dreams, Hard Times: America in the Thirties, begins in Lawrence on June 18th, with learning and entertainment opportunities for the entire family.
Chautauqua provides adults and children an interactive way to learn about the people and events of the 1930s that helped shape Kansas into what it is today. Chautauqua includes music, hands-on demonstrations for kids, reenactments and entertaining and educational workshops.
Chautauqua portrayals are under the big tent, located on the west side of South Park. Pre-show entertainment begins each evening at 7 p.m., with the Chautauquans taking the stage at 7:30 p.m.
