Description: Podcast preview of the show.
Lawrence's premier diva has got a brand new band — Ghosty's Josh Adams (drums) and Jake Blanton (guitar), and Alex Delanda of The Sunshine Rains (bass). The new ensemble recently tracked a session for Daytrotter and will be opening for Modest Mouse and a week of Conor Oberst dates later this summer. Each ensuing show casts new hues on Dri's "Smoke Rings" tracks, much of which wouldn't sound out of place on a Sade record if it weren't for the modern electronica and hip-hop inflections. And there's oh so much more crammed between the cracks of Dri's breezy vocals; soulful 6/8 torch songs, Feist-like summer jams and even a bit of that Fleetwood Mac song-and-dance that her old band The Anniversary did so well.
After three years of lineup changes and hiatuses, The Dactyls (formerly Terrordactyls) have been mad busy lately with the addition of drummer John Momberg and extreme bro-ductivity from twins Nick and John Bergwell. Guitarist Brendan Costello rounds out the quartet, which channels the glory days of Pavement and Archers of Loaf with guitar-heavy material geared for kickass live shows.
Lawrence songwriter Katlyn Conroy is taking a breather from her band Another Holiday to release a solo album. Taking cues from personal faves like Kimya Dawson, Jenny Lewis and Death Cab for Cutie, Conroy sings sweet, hummable melodies with hushed dynamics and twinkling keyboards.

The flyer for this show say it's D.R.I ( the old school hardcore band). But I'm guessing that was a mistake. I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed punkers at that show!

They screwed this flyer up so bad! It say "Katlyn Cinroy" instead of "Conroy". What makes it even better is that they used the dripping Misfits font!
