"A Midsummer Night's Dream"

Description: The Lawrence Youth Ensemble, a new theatre group for area youth, will present "A Midsummer Night's Dream." This collaborative project features youth ages 14-18 and will performed in the east side of South Park. Join us after the performance for free dessert and conversation.
The Lawrence Youth Ensemble is a new project that is being developed in order to provide theatre opportunities for all children in Lawrence. We find that working cooperatively as an ensemble is the best way to encourage creative growth in children, and as such, we emphasis the process of creating a play, with the performance as an added bonus. We are community focused, believing that everyone can be involved in theatre in some way, whether acting or backstage or in the audience. We encourage the involvement of parents, family friends, local businesses, and community agencies. As the arts become less accessible in schools, we would like to offer opportunities for Lawrence youth at low or no cost to their families. At the performance, we will ask for donations which will help fund future programming.
