Oakhurst / DeWayn Brothers

Age limit: 18+
Categories: Bluegrass, Country, Folk, Music | Old Timey
Description: Oakhurst is a Denver-based act with deep Appalachian roots and original songs that fuse traditional bluegrass with a citybilly attitude. The band’s sound is more rustic and rocking (and less jazzy and jammy) than the typical hybrid bluegrass found in the Rocky Mountain Region. The group performed at the Prairie Stage at last summer's Wakarusa Festival and books upwards of 200 shows a year. They'll be joined tonight by Emporia boogans (and adopted Lawrence townies) the DeWayn Brothers, who have been doing plenty of hard travelin' themselves lately.
