Description: It's gonna be hard for The Presidents of The United States of America -- "PUSA" to the converted -- to commercially top past hit singles like "Lump" and "Peaches." In fact, those are probably still the tracks people want to hear when the Seattle alt-rock trio hits the road. But unlike many of their novelty-hit peers, the Presidents have kept their dignity intact by recording more quality albums and mixing up the formula from time-to-time (i.e. six-string guitars instead of the group's unique three-string "guitbass" and two-string "basitar"). The band's new LP "These Are the Good Times People" takes all kinds of turns; from lilting folk-pop to country two-step ditties. Mostly, however, the Presidents dial up another round of the infectious fuzzed-out power pop that separated them from the post-grunge pack.
