Outdoor concert in the lot at Ninth and New Hampshire streets.After distancing himself from his alt-country beginnings, Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy has seemingly embraced more of his past as he plots his next move. The critically lauded band played all of its records in their entirety during a one-week residency in Chicago last year, expanding the set list possibilities for its current tour (fans can request songs via the band's site). The full-time commitments of guitarist Nels Cline and multi-instrumentalist Pat Sansone facilitate creative revisions of tracks from early records like "A.M." and "Being There," though the group's latest LP "Sky Blue Sky" will likely be the centerpiece of this unique outdoors show.Opener Retribution Gospel Choir plays loud and sings in key. Two-minute pop songs run into psychedelic improvisations and drum-n-bass dub. People sometimes think the band is too loud or that they should take turns soloing, but generally people are pleasantly surprised.
