Description: Update from Lonnie: sORRY folks, our drummer severely injured his back so we can't play the wednesday show. many apologies, but we will see you again when he has recovered.

Lonnie Fisher has come a long ways since his days fronting Sturgeon Mill, a reputable Lawrence band that disbanded seemingly as it was coming into its own. Reconvening with a cast of supporters including keyboardist Charles S. McVey and a rotating rhythm section, Fisher plays up his '80s influences -- Echo and the Bunnymen, Peter Murphy, Depeche Mode -- while staying true to his love for classic crooners like Roy Orbison and Brian Wilson. The fruits of Fisher's ball-busting performance regimen will surface on a new album to be released in August.

Opener Katlyn Conroy is the frontwoman for Lawrence indie-pop outfit Another Holiday. Taking cues from favorite songwriters like Kimya Dawson, Regina Spektor and Jenny Smith, Conroy is working on her debut solo album with a host of local collaborators.
