Sod Hauler / Samothrace / Lethe
When: Thursday, May 29, 2008, 9 p.m.
Where: The Jackpot Music Hall, 943 Mass., Lawrence
Cost: $5 - $7
Age limit: 18+
Categories: Metal / hardcore, Rock
Description: With a name like Sod Hauler, one would expect the band to be born of the plains of Kansas. But no, this Sod Hauler hails from Seattle, giving rise to a sound not influenced by rural twang, but more “down-tempo metal” (or so says its MySpace page). Bio info remains scarce, but the band’s lineup and instruments of choice help point potential listeners in the right direction: Bocephus Diablo (hot licks/ gruesome breath), Adrian Guerra (death hammers) and Rainbow (low end). Sod Hauler joins Samothrace and Lethe at 9 p.m. today at The Jackpot Music Hall, 943 Mass.
