Titan Records Listening Party

Record Bar

Titan Records was the first indie record label to emerge during the punk/new wave era in the Kansas City area. Eight records were released between 1978-1981, by local artists like Gary Charlson, The Secrets* (including future members of The Rainmakers and The Elders) and J.P. McClain & the Intruders, along with The Boys, from Lincoln, Nebraska and Arlis!, from Omaha, Nebraska. Although the label had limited success at the time, it has since been recognized internationally as one of the finest indie power pop/rock & roll labels of its time. Now, 30 years later, all the original recordings, along with a plethora of unreleased material, are being unleashed in the digital format for the first time, in a deluxe 2-cd set, complete with 40-page booklet that includes the entire story of the label and its artists. Come join in the celebration, where you'll be able to listen to and purchase these recordings and meet some of the former Titan musicians at the only release party scheduled for this important part of Kansas City musical history.A percentage of the proceeds from cd sales at this release party will be donated to the benefit for Abigail, Apocalypse Meow.
