Patrick Cleandenim / 1,000,000 Light Years / Danny Pound

Patrick Clendenin Roberts first made waves in Lawrence with Clockwork, a darkly-colored pop trio that began performing around town while its members were still in high school. In 2003, Roberts moved to the East Village of New York City to pursue an education at The Cooper Union while he wrote the songs that would later be recorded during an extended hiatus in Lawrence during the fall of 2005. Dawning the nom-du-disque "Patrick Cleandenim," Roberts booked a handful of night sessions at Black Lodge Studio to record his debut full-length "Baby Comes Home" with an orchestra of twelve. The album has since been released in Europe on Broken Horse Records and in North America on Ba Da Bing! Records. Its sweeping chamber orchestration evokes '60s pop acts like The Association as well as Motown, Rufus Wainwright and even a little Burt Bacharach. Tonight's surprise show will be his first in Lawrence since 2004.
