Fifty years ago, William S. Burroughs published “Naked Lunch,” one of the landmark works of American literature. To celebrate this event, and honor the 12th anniversary of his death, fellow friends and artists are gathering at 6 p.m. today at The Bourgeois Pig, 6 E. Ninth St. The venue will be unveiling a selection of Burroughs’ artwork called “Naked Leftovers: Paintings by William S. Burroughs,” which runs through 29. Also featured will be
• Remarks from James Grauerholz.
• Readings from “Naked Lunch” by Jim McCrary and Wayne Propst.
• Screenings of Propst’s home videos of Burroughs in Lawrence and “Towers Open Fire,” by Antony Balch and WSB (1963).
• Accordion serenade by Sue Ashline.
• The Dream Machine.
• Vodka and Coke, Navy cut players, saltines and brick cheddar, and black centipedes.
