Check out our full preview of Patrick Dobson's new book.
In May 1995, Patrick Dobson left a steady but deadening job in Kansas City and set out to walk to Montana. “Seldom Seen: A Journey Into the Great Plains” is the story of the people (sympathetic and antagonistic) and the places (beautiful and harsh) that he encountered on the way. As he came to a deeper understanding of himself, he learned just how much the physical environment of the prairie influences its inhabitants. Dobson, a former writer, journalist and iron worker, is currently a doctoral student in U.S environmental history and American literature at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
