California dwellers The Blacks (no relation to the '90s alt-country band) play hard-driving rock and roll with the barest essentials: drums, one guitar, one tambourine and a whole lotta moxie. The group has a place in tambourine history after handing out 100 of the suckers at a recent "tambourine experiment" show. Even without the gimmicks, the group drives 65 on full-throttle rock reminiscent of Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
