Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich —and some well-meaning kids in basketball costumes— kick off the Big XII season against arch-nemesis Kansas State. The two schools split the series last year, each winning on their home courts. K-State lost Michael Beasley and Bill Walker to the NBA draft but managed to go 11-3 in the non-conference season against a bunch of fruity cupcake teams.
