The 940 Dance Company, the resident dance company of the Lawrence Arts Center, presents "Transformations," a concert on Tuesday, January 27 th at 7 pm in the Center’s theater. This performance is in celebration of the residents, staff, family and friends of First Step at Lakeview. The concert will feature seven dances that demonstrate the resiliency of the human spirit. The performance is open to the public. Donations are appreciated. The dances on the program will include: Five Chapters from Stories of Addiction, choreographed by Candi Baker; Wardrobe, which looks at our relationship to our clothes, choreographed by Susan Rieger and Bobbi Foudree; The Journey, a graceful quartet to the music of Arvo Part, choreographed by Vance Baldwin; Classic, a solo with a couch, expertly danced and choreographed by Non Edwards; Elusive Memory, a reflection on forgetfulness; and Prismatica, a dance of lights, where the audience wears special glasses.For more information, please contact Candi Baker or Susan Rieger at the Lawrence Arts Center, (785)843-2787 or lacdance@sunflower.com.
