The Kansas Short Grass Motorcycle Club will be sponsoring monthly scenic motorcycle tours held the Second Sunday of each month from May through November. Daylong trips are being planned through northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri. Points of interest along the way will include: natural scenery, historic locations, museums, cultural events and of course---a good home-cooked meal while on the road. Our organization is open to riders over the age of 18. All makes and models of motorcycles are welcomed. Membership dues are $50/yr for singles and $75/yr for families. We invite interested parties to ride on a trial tour with us to determine if our club fits your needs. Single-day tour rates for non-members are $20/singles and $25/two-up couples. These fees can be applied to your membership dues should you decide to join on the same day of your first tour. Otherwise, you are welcome to join us on any of our upcoming monthly daylong tours by paying the single-day rate. Members of the club always ride on the tours for free. Our single’s membership fee equates to just $4.17/month!
Our upcoming Sunday May 17th daylong tour will be one GREAT ride. We are heading up through the glacial region of northeast Kansas to St. Joseph, MO to tour through some private-residence Victorian homes. You will not only see completed renovations but also some projects “in the rough.” We will have a riverside meal planned in Atchison before heading on to our ultimate destination in St. Joe. Our guest hosts in St. Joe, Dave and Barbara, will serve dessert, coffee and drinks to the club at the conclusion of our home tour in their recently renovated bed and breakfast. All members are responsible for their personal guest check. If you know of anyone who you think would make a positive addition to our club, be sure to invite them along for this daylong tour. Come join the oldest motorcycle club in Kansas this riding season! We meet at the Checkers Foods parking lot at 9 AM and the tour begings at 10 AM. We are heading into Missouri and helmets are required.
