The ever-amusing Wild West Film Festival unleashes its October “Scare Factor” edition. As always, participating teams had 48 hours to write, film and edit a five-minute horror film. Teams were required to include three of five objects or themes in their film: a trash can, wrong turn, full moon, creaky door or broken heart. The results of their creative endeavors will be screened tonight. Judges include filmmaker Patrick Rea, film scholar Tamara Falicov and Blue Cat Screenwriting Competition organizer Gordy Hoffman (Philip Seymour Hoffman’s older brother).
