Pinback is the rotating partnership of Rob Crow (formerly of Heavy Vegetable) and Armistead Burwell Smith IV (formerly of 3 Mile Pilot). The group was on hiatus while Crow pursued side-projects Goblin Cock and The Ladies, but they have regrouped in the past few years to put out a solid new album ("Autumn of the Seraphs") and achieve some of the commercial success that previously eluded them. With bouncing beats, wiry guitars, and whispery sing-song vocals, the group's distinctive sound never seems to wear thin.
