Kate Voegele / Greenriver Ordinance / Kevin Hammond

A few years ago, fledgling songwriter Kate Voegele discovered several shrewd ways to deliver her songs to the public. First, she developed a strong Web-based following, leading to a deal with MySpace Records that resulted in the sale of several hundred thousand copies of her “Don’t Look Away” debut. Second, she landed a recurring role on the TV series “One Tree Hill,” playing a young singer named Mia who was also contending with launching a career. Now Voegele is touring on the strength of her sophomore effort, “A Fine Mess,” which further expands her repertoire of country-tinged, young-adult contemporary tunes.
