Arts Or Crafts is a play that consists of a collection of original scenes ranging from the hilarious to the disturbing, this Kansas City Premiere explores censorship and snobbery involved in judging the artistic. From early Greek architecture to Katie Holmes’ Broadway appearance in All My Sons —nothing is sacred in this biting and incisive new work.

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT
Rob Roznowski is currently the Head of Acting and Directing at Michigan State University. He served as the National Outreach and Education Coordinator for Actors' Equity Association (the union for Actors and Stage Managers.) during his time there he created numerous nationally-accepted programs and materials used for prospective and established members of the 45,000 member union. As an actor, Rob has appeared at the Long Wharf Theatre, the Goodspeed Opera House and the Pittsburgh Public Theatre as well as numerous off-Broadway productions. He was an original cast member of the New York and Los Angeles productions of the long-running musical I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and can be heard on the recording of that show. He has co-directed and written several award-winning short and feature-length films. He has directed many musicals and plays of varying styles nationally. As an educator, Rob served on the faculty of Manhattan Marymount College, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, SUNY/Stony Brook and Stephens College where he received the "Distinguished Teaching Award" conferred by both students and faculty. His play Arts or Crafts received the "Best New Play" Pulsar Award from Michigan Critics and was chosen as the closing night selection for the Regional Kennedy Center Region III Conference in Milwaukee. Rob is currently working on a play exploring technology and loneliness.

ABOUT ONE TIME PRODUCTIONS
One Time Productions is an environmental theatre company whose mission is to provide theatre in unique and diverse spaces. OTP looks beyond traditional stage venues, choosing to set its performances in real environments suggested by the plays.

ABOUT THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Bess Wallerstein has worked in the Kansas City arts community for over five years as an artist, administrator, producer and teacher. In 2005, she founded One Time Productions with Kansas City visual artist, Johnny Naugahyde. Last fall, she directed True West by Sam Shepard in an airstream trailer outdoors in Brookside and in 2005, she directed Tina Howe’s Museum in the Kansas City Crossroads art district. She is the founder of CounterClockwise Comedy, an experimental comedy group which performs improv comedy shows and live comedy movie roasts at Screenland Theatre. In addition, Bess served as the producer for the Kansas City Improv Festival in 2008 and 2007. Other plays she has directed include: Fuddy Meers, The House of Blue Leaves, Baby with the Bathwater, and Private Ear. Bess worked on the world premiere of Touched with the William Inge Theatre Festival as well as the world premiere staged reading of Whitehorse at the Great Plains Theatre Conference. Recently, Bess completed the 2008 Creative Capital Workshop in conjunction with the Charlotte Street Foundation.
