From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at South Park, 1200 Mass., there will be a community potluck as part of Slow Food USA’s Time for Lunch National Day of Action.
The potluck is one of 150 in the United States on Monday and is aimed at improving the quality of food in our nation’s schools. The bill that encompasses the National School Lunch Program, the Child Nutrition Act, comes up for reauthorization by Congress this fall. Slow Food USA estimates that for each school lunch, only $1 is spent on food.
The event is free. RSVP to dhangauer@yahoo.com or rm@freestatebrewery.com. For more information, go to www.slowfoodusa.org/timeforlunch.
