Southern Culture On the Skids

Southern Culture On the Skids has been a party band par excellence for more than two decades, playing greasy sides of country, rockabilly, swamp-rock, oldies, and reverb-soaked surf. The Chapel Hill, N.C., outfit is known for parodying trailor-trash culture, looking every bit the part and singing about sex and fried chicken. The group's recent covers album "Countrypolitan Favorites" finds them tackling unexpected challenges like T. Rex and The Kinks.
