On Friday, February 19th there will be a show at The Record Bar in Westport benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This show is hosted by Missy Anderson, who has been doing fundraising work with the Society since 2006. She decided to get involved with the Society when she lost her grandmother, Louise Drewery, to Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma because she wanted to do what she could to help find a cure for blood cancers. Every year since her loss, she has formed a team with family & friends and participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk (www.lightthenight.org), which is one of the many ways to help raise funds and awareness for blood cancer research. Missy decided she wanted to do something more than just the walk this year and she pulled together two things that are a big presence in her life: music and blood cancer awareness.
