A precious few indie rock bands exhibit the staying power of Yo La Tengo, a trio of music aficionados from New Jersey that has released 16 albums during the course of its 25-year career. Ranging from dreamy pop to revved-up garage-rock to Latin-beat lounge, the group only sounds like Yo La Tengo because it's the same three people playing a wildly eclectic batch of material. In addition to recently releasing its critically adored (yawn ... again) album "Popular Songs," Yo La Tengo scored the film "Adventureland" and released a covers album under an unprintable pseudonym that starts with "Condo."
