The University of Kansas Women’s rugby team is a local club women’s rugby team that was founded in 1993 and is dedicated to supporting the growth of women’s rugby. We offer young women a chance to be a part of a great team atmosphere, learn about a fast growing sport and stay in shape by being physically active. One way we accomplish this goal is by practicing three days a week and playing games throughout our spring and fall season. This season we are hosting a Silent Auction on March 5th, 2010 at Wayne and Larry’s bar and grill.
The money raised from the silent auction will be used to pay for field time during practices and home games and pay our coaching staff, as well as purchase new equipment such as new rugby balls and tackling pads.
Anyone is encouraged to come out and bid on some great items from several fantastic local businesses. Items include gift certificates, apparel and services from restaraunts, spas and clothing stores located around Lawrence.
The event will be held all day, to be followed by the rugby team dining at Wayne and Larry's. Guests are encouraged to come out and bid and then stay for dinner with the team at Wayne and Larry's.
