The Dactyls / Ali Harter / Mansion / Suzannah Johannes

Jackpot Music Hall

Channeling the glory days of '90s indie rock (Sonic Youth, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr.), The Dactyls employ alternate tunings and interweaving lead guitars to create densely textured, off-kilter tunes. The group recently tracked an album in Austin with engineer/producer Jim Vollentine (known for his work with ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead).

Oklahoma singer/songwriter Ali Harter is a familiar face in Lawrence thanks to her frequent appearances at the Replay and other local dives. Her voice is one you won't soon forget, possessing a seductive charm not unlike Feist or Cat Power. Harter has made numerous treks across the States and to Europe in the past year, grabbing crowds with the still-potent combo of voice and acoustic guitar.

Lawrence's Mansion plays instrumental rock and metal at uncouth volumes.

Lawrence's Suzannah Johannes sings sweetly and writes some of the best folk-rock melodies this town has ever inspired.
