Alderson Auditorium

From the organizer: This multi-dimensional experience will cover the development of African-American music and performance from before the Civil War to the present. Join us to explore the origins, evolution and interdisciplinary nature of African-American music and writing through the expertise of Tony Bolden, professor of African and African-American studies, and live performances by renowned avant-garde slam poet Tracie Morris and accomplished funk bassist and historian Scot Brown.
