Opening: "Outcast," by John Sebelius

Bourgeois Pig

Exhibit runs through June 5.

From the curator: Sebelius is an artist whose interest in documenting the contemporary phenomena of the “outcast” stems in part from a family history of service to the American working class. His mother is Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, and John was raised in an environment that valued humanism and progressive thought. He now tries to convert this legacy into a visual idiom that celebrates Americans who might otherwise remain invisible. For this reason, Sebelius classifies himself as an inherently “American” artist.
