Afro Night At The Granada

Tonight's Afro Beat showcase at the Granada, 1020 Mass., features enough talent for three shows. Kansas City's Hearts of Darkness is an incredible band that create lush, horn- and drum-driven songs that benefit from the band's double-digit lineup and sonic diversity. They are joined by Lawrence's SUNU, who similarly fuzes jazz, funk R&B and rock elements together into a cohesive, dynamic mix. If that weren't enough, DJs Kim Barely Legal and DJ Stiga will also be on-hand spinning funk and soul records. The show starts at 9 p.m. and is $7 in advance, $10 at the door. The show is open for all ages.
