Batik is a method of producing colored designs on textiles by dyeing them, having first applied wax to the parts to be left undyed. This simple technique uses natural soy wax that melts at a much lower temperature so you can't get burned...you can even do it with your kids! In this workshop we will learn from Jennifer Glenn how to use printing methods to apply the wax and then use fabric dyes to show your design. You will have to take your pieces home and let them "batch" and then you can wash the wax out in a really hot washing machine. It's like magic! This class is free, but donations will be accepted.
